Gerald Levert

Gerald Levert. According to many websites that I have been on an Ohio coroner said that Gerald Levert died from an "accidental" mix of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

The drugs that were found in his bloodstream included narcotic pain relievers Vicodin, Percocet, and Darvocet along with anxiety medication Xanax and two over-the-counter antihistamines. I don't know anything about medicines but that even sounds like a lot to be taking at once. Geauga County Coroner Kevin Chartrand says the official cause of death was acute intoxication and the death was ruled accidental.

Also, the autopsy found that Gerald Levert had pneumonia. A family friend, Andy Gibson, said that Gerald was taking the pain medication because of surgery he had had in 2005 to fix a severed Achilles tendon. He was also a victim of anxiety attacks which is why he took the Xanax.

A week prior to Levert's death he was in South Africa for a concert. After he returned home he was complaining about a bite on his back. All of these factors play a part in his death and also left Gerald in severe pain. The coroner went on to say that the combination of drugs proved to be lethal and probably stopped his breathing.
